Looking for someone to develop and create our a marketing and sales campaign for a new project. Passion for the tech scene, marketing and sales and business growth is more important than having hard skills. ( We can teach you later.)

We host IT infrastructure for small and large companies alike. We call this Infrastructure as a Service (IAAS). We provide a cost effective way for companies ranging from tech start-ups to large enterprises to utilize our IT infrastructure and data center services to avoid heavy upfront investment to try their product or outsource their IT infrastructure to a more reliable, compliant, and intuitive service. It's our job to attract them to this solution.

Why do companies need this service? Companies have become so heavily dependent on a functioning, powered and online network in its day to day operations, which any down-time would cost the company substantially in productivity and revenue. Our services include cloud computing, colocation and managed dedicated & virtual server hosting to major companies for a monthly fee. We offer tech startups, large enterprises the peace of mind to know that business will continue as usual. 24/7/365, in a scalable and cost-effective manner. We strive for cost-effectiveness to get businesses off the ground and for business to continue without interruption.

Because we have the IT infrastructure available to us in a top notch facility, there are so many other high tech sources of revenue to consider, and it our hope that working together we can explore, research and come to a logical strategy with executable actions that demonstrate an immediate impact on the direction of the company. You have the liberty to pursue these new projects.

You would be working in our Start up. youthful, community oriented corporate Soho office furthering business development and sound marketing campaigns with us. Your responsibility would be to research and justify these campaigns, and execute them and learn from the results.

Spare yourself from drafting a perfectly tailored cover letter or resume. Just send what you have. We value personal chemistry, drive and passion. We are of the mindset that a discussion (via phone call or in person) goes a long way than a boiler plate or overly perfected resume (we've all been there.) E-mail us and we'll schedule a quick, casual call. We are in Soho, shoot an e-mail and stop by if you would like.

If you know and love all of Django's shortcuts but also know when to take the long way around... If you have the experience to build software that will last and can grow with us. . . If you can strike that balance between Getting It Just Right and Getting It Done... we want you on our team!

- General database design and OOP principles
- SQL (esp. w/ MySQL)

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

- BS or MS in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience

Featured in the NY Times, Washington Post, and Fast Company, we're an angel-backed startup and member of the winter 2012 class of the Entrepreneurs Roundtable Accelerator in NYC.

The Position: CEO of a profitable software-as-a-service email company

Are you a highly skilled techie and entrepreneur hungry to lead and grow a successful company? Think you've got what it takes to be a Steve Jobs, Larry Page, or Sergey Brin? If you're a developer with a successful entrepreneurial background paired with strategic vision and the ability to execute it, you might be exactly the person I need.

My name's Ajay. I'm the current CEO of JangoMail, and I'm looking for someone who can do this job better than I can. JangoMail is a web-based email marketing platform with over 4,000 customers worldwide. We've been in the email marketing business for almost 10 years, and have two services: JangoMail and JangoSMTP. The company is growing, profitable, and has a great future ahead of it with the right leadership. I've taken the company this far, and I think someone else can take the company further.

It's time for me, the founder of JangoMail, to find a Chief Executive Officer who will drive my company forward and steer its future success. As you can imagine, finding the right person is a tall order. I'm looking for someone with great vision, lots of energy, and fantastic leadership skills, a tech background and experience running a business, and a personality that matches my company's culture. Basically I want Mark Zuckerberg's clone. If you're that person, keep reading.

What I'm looking for:

The ideal candidate is similar to me in many ways but different - and better! - in others. A quick summary of the similarities: you need to have both an entrepreneurial and tech background, understand how to run a small business, and have a blazing desire to succeed. What I need from someone else is vision: you need to be the leader and driver of JangoMail's new phase, and have the foresight, energy, and passion to take the company to the next level of growth.

Here are some of the particular skills and experiences I'm looking for. You should:
1. Have run a software company in the past, preferably software-as-a-service (SaaS).
2. Have been a lead developer on a big software project at one point.
3. Have skills in most areas of running a small software company. This includes motivating and managing team members, recruiting and HR, accounting, online marketing like AdWords/SEO, negotiating, developing and maintaining strong client relationships, and so on.

Here are some less tangible requirements. You need to:
1. Be knowledgeable and passionate about all things software and tech.
2. Be able to conceive and execute a plan for how you'd take JangoMail forward.
3. Be liked by me and the other team members.

This position is a great opportunity for an energetic, driven techie who has skills beyond software development. If hired, you would inherit a profitable company with an amazing team and no big problems to start. If you have the skills and hunger of a great CEO and software developer, the strategic vision to fuel our product growth and our company growth, and the leadership skills to coordinate and guide a unique and highly independent team, this is the opportunity for you.

What your first three months might look like:
First 30 days: Immersion in product and company structure and culture.
You would spend your first month getting to know our products inside and out and learning the overall architecture and codebase that comprises the products. You would also get to know our two developers and our Director of Operations, and learn about the company's operations at a high level, from accounting functions to marketing functions.

Second 30 days: Growth plan and vision.
Working with input from me, you would spend your second month developing a plan for the future. This should be a flexible but comprehensive roadmap, identifying things like what people need to be hired, what new features should be implemented, and what partnerships we should pursue.

Third 30 days: Put the plan in action.
In the third month, I anticipate handing off control to you. You would begin implementing the plans that have been made so far. I would still provide some consultation and feedback, but this would mark the beginning of your tenure as top decision-maker.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: If you're looking for a new CEO, what role will you transition into?
A: I'm not sure yet, but I'll still have involvement in the company. I anticipate that I may stay around in a technical capacity, developing and improving the product, or I might focus on blogging for the company or establishing partnerships. Whatever my role turns out to be, it will be up to you to steer and grow the company.

Q: What will the compensation structure look like?
A: This position will be highly compensated, with a six figure base salary plus a percentage of profits.

Q: Where will the CEO work?
A: From home. We are a virtual company with a small office in Dayton, Ohio. I (the current CEO) live in Chicago, but you can live wherever you want.

Q: If the CEO is remote, how will he/she work with his team?
A: Using remote communication technologies like phone, email, video chat, and IM. Our team is made up of highly motivated and highly independent individuals; it's very important that you're able to coordinate and manage a team like this.

Think you're the one? To apply, email your application to CEO-search at us.jangomail.com (Replace at with an @ sign.) Send your cover letter in the body of the email message, and attach your resume in .rtf format (Rich Text Format). I love detail - the more detail you convey about yourself in your cover letter, the better! I want to know more than just your employment history; I want to get a feel for who you are as a person and what kind of executive you'd be for my company. I also invite you to submit anything you think represents who you are and why you're the CEO I need. That might be a code sample, a list of URLs, design work, an essay describing your leadership style and history, and so on. If you consider it important and valuable to my decision, I encourage you to include it in your application.
